Sage Butter Noodles

  • 1/2 lb pasta of choice (I like fettuccine or linguini for this one)

  • 4 T butter

  • 4-5 fresh sage leaves

  • 1 T fresh lemon juice

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan

Instructions

  1. Boil water. Salt boiling water generously. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.

  2. Cook pasta according to package directions.

  3. In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add whole sage leaves and cook until butter begins to brown and sage becomes almost crispy fried. This takes approx 5-7 minutes.

  4. Stir in lemon juice and salt.

  5. Add pasta into skillet and toss in butter.

  6. Add in pasta water and simmer over medium-low until water is absorbed.

  7. Sprinkle the top with grated parmesan.

*Notes:

Can serve with the whole sage leaves on top or on the side so your kiddo can see and smell it separately before tasting.
