Maple Oatmeal

  • 1/2 cup quick cooking rolled or steel cut oats

  • 1 cup water

  • pinch of salt

  • 1-2 T brown sugar (according to your kiddo’s preference)

  • 2 T maple syrup

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

  • Splash of milk

Instructions

  1. Combine oats, water, salt and brown sugar in a bowl. Give a quick stir to mix ingredients together.

  2. Microwave on high for 2 minutes.

  3. Stir in maple syrup, vanilla, and milk.

*Notes:

This can also be made on the stove top if you don’t have a microwave.

Stovetop Instructions

  1. Heat water in small saucepan until boiling. Add salt.

  2. Once boiling, turn down heat to medium-low and add oats. Simmer for 1-2 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and add brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, and milk, mixing altogether.

  4. Cover and let stand 3-4 minutes.
